“Wu Fan, what are you doing? You’ll kill yourself. Please stop!”

“Suho, you must let me do this. It’s the only way.”

“Only way to what?”

Wu Fan closed his eyes. He knew there’d be hell to pay for falling in love with an angel of the light, but it was all going to be worth it in the end. He was willing to go through hell and back if it meant having a chance of heaven with his beautiful angel.

He opened his eyes, taking one last glance at Suho as he breathe out, “…to be with you.”

And with finality, he set his wings ablaze, burning his entire being and triggering an immeasurable surge of pain coursing through his body.

Time seemed to stop as Suho prayed for his friend’s safety.

“Please Wu Fan, come back to me.”

The fair angel’s tears landed into the flames, sparking colorful flames bursting into the sky. After what seemed like an eternity, Wu Fan emerged from the ashes and into the light, a new angel, Kris.

“Different? Different?!” Kris was trying hard not to growl at the angelic faced man, but he was getting frustrated with the latter’s naivety. “Suho, I thought you were smart. Can’t you see? He’s only using you.” He said the last sentence putting more than needed emphasis on every single word hoping it would stick with the younger man.

“No, h-he’s not. He loves me and I believe that…he can change. He just needs more time. He will choose our side.”

“Fallens like him can’t and won’t change. Not even for you. If he really loved you back, he would have come to our side by now. Don’t you get it? He will just betray you in the end. Why won’t you listen to me?”

“Stop! How could you even say that. You were once…”

“What? Say it. I was once what?”

“I…”

“I was once a fallen too. Is that what you’re going to say?”

“I didn’t mean to bring it up…but if you were able to change sides, what makes him any different from you?”

“Don’t you ever compare me with him. I was born a fallen, I had no choice and yet I chose you.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Don’t…Just don’t. It doesn’t matter.” His words came out as a whisper. “Even if you don’t love me back, I won’t stop loving you.
